19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his first championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents his maiden title following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from March of 2023.
Success also means the Russian has secured 21 championships at 21 various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in that event previously this season.
The player's retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted some to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was over.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the final five points to go ahead.
Both players traded service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a final set.
Moutet rescued 4 initial opportunities in a tight final set before the champion broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a return after over two and a half hours.
